As Above, So Below
George would often use the phrase "as above, so below." One of the meanings of this expression is that we can understand how the world we cannot perceive with our senses works by taking advantage of this structural property of the universe. Said another way, if we are a careful observer of our lower self, we can understand our higher self.
A quick review of a typical way George would explain the self is in order. George uses an eight level framework as a good model for who we really are. Most of us would probably say that the Body/Emotion/Mind is who we are. George would say those only represent the first three levels. The fourth level (or chakra) would be our intuitive self and he sometimes anthropomorphizes this and call it Beatrice. Similarly, he often calls our emotional self “Annabelle,” and our intellectual self “Virgil.”
The fifth level is Cosmic or Holy Spirit Consciousness. The sixth, Christ or Buddha Consciousness, the seventh is God (aka The Father) conscisousness. The eighth transcends words and understanding. The table illustrates these levels.
Using this model, “as above, so below” means that the Annabelle/Virgil/Beatrice levels (2nd/3rd/4th) in the below part of this model are paralleled by the Holy Spirit/Christ/God trinity (5th/6th/7th) in the higher levels.
This idea comes up frequently with George (e.g. in Episodes #8 & #11). So for example, in Episode #11 he makes the point that we can understand the workings of the Holy Spirit by understanding the workings of Annabelle and vice versa.
There are many instances where he uses this phrase and I will post further on it as they come up in the podcasts but for now, I thought having the table and this brief outline would help in the understanding for those listening to Episodes #8 & #11.
